Facilities
Use & Requirements:
– Rifle, pistol, and shotgun use only
– Members: Free Guests: $10/day (must be with member)
– All shooters must complete the Gun Range Safety Exam (80%+), sign the Release of Liability, and initial the Rules & Regulations before use
– All firearms and ammunition inspected by an RSO prior to shooting
– Minors (ages 7–17) may shoot only under direct supervision of a legal guardian
Note:
Schedule an Appointment By Friday at 3 PM
– Appointments are required and may be extended only with RSO approval.
– Check-in: All shooters must arrive at least 15 minutes early for the mandatory Safety Briefing.
Closures:
– Range availability is subject to weather, fire danger, and RSO staffing.
– The facility may close for adverse conditions, scheduled matches, maintenance, or holidays.
– Always confirm availability before traveling to the range.
Range Safety & Conduct:
– All participants must follow BVSA Gun Range Rules & Regulations and obey RSO instructions.
– Eye and ear protection are mandatory.
– No rapid fire (more than two shots per second).
– No smoking, vaping, alcohol, or drug use.
– No shooting at wildlife or non-approved targets.
– Only one firearm per station; firearms must remain unloaded, cased, or open when not in use.
– Fully automatic firearms and armor-piercing rounds are prohibited.
– Children under 7 years old are not permitted on the range.
– RSOs have full authority to stop unsafe behavior or remove participants for any safety violation.
Guest Policy:
– Guests must be sponsored by a BVSA member in good standing.
– Guests must complete all forms, pass the Gun Safety Exam, and attend with the member.
– Guest Fee: $10 per person, per day (cash not accepted at the range).
Important Notes:
– All shooters are responsible for cleaning up brass, targets, and benches before leaving.
– Personal targets are permitted only if BVSA-approved (no glass, cans, or explosive materials).
– RSO decisions are final and must be followed at all times.
Wildlife Notice:
Wildlife is an integral part of the Bear Valley Springs community, and it’s common to encounter elk, deer, and other animals along Deertrail Drive and near the range.
– Drive slowly and cautiously, especially during dawn and dusk.
– If wildlife are near the range, shooting may be paused for safety.
– Members and guests must respect wildlife and avoid approaching or disturbing animals.
